This time in two weeks I'll be on the second leg of my flight to London. Every time I think about it I want to do a combination of a few things; dance, laugh, cry and vomit. It is a bizarre mix of emotions here at the moment and I can't sit still, let alone keep my mind still. A friend diagnosed me with 'monkey mind' and that feels about right. I'm swinging through the trees here people. Big time. Mostly I am excited and impatient. Although two weeks sounds like nothing, it feels like forever, or maybe time has slowed down. I've done most things I need to before I leave, though I'm sure I will keep finding new bits and pieces to do. I have started packing, although packing is hard! I feel like I could take everything or nothing. I've got some 'what I'm taking' posts coming up so keep an eye out for those.
There are a few things that I
want to do before I go, though this scummy weather is going to pose a problem for a few of them. Anyway, here's my list of 10 things I want to do before I leave the country. Looks like I'll have to do one a day at this rate!
- Spend a day at the beach in the sunshine and salt.
- Spend a lazy day at my favourite swimming hole just outside the town where I live.
- Walk over Muttonbird Island again.
- Watch as many DVDs from my enormous collection as possible.
- Take a photographic tour of my town so I can lessen the home sickness that is bound to come.
- Have a lazy afternoon BBQ .
- Go for a long drive (I won't have a car in London which seriously gets me down!)
- Go for a long walk along the board walk at Urunga.
- Spend as many days with my Mum and sister as possible.
- Do as many early morning walks as I can; I won't be working out at 6am in London!
